CURRENT COVID-19 INFORMATION FOR MARTHA’S VINEYARD (Dukes County)

Current Mask Mandate(s) - As of March 2, 2022, masks and face coverings are optional in all towns on the Vineyard. This includes public spaces and buildings.

Privately owned businesses have the ability to set mask requirements for their staff and patrons. Please be respectful of others’ wishes as you navigate different spaces old and new across the Island.

COVID-19 Testing, Social Distancing, and Quarantine Guidance (Last updated 2/9/2023)

COVID-19 Testing on Island – As of March 2023, there is no longer an on-island testing location for COVID-19 PCR tests. At-home rapid test kits will be available through your town’s Board of Health while supplies last. If you are still in need of a rapid test, please check with your local pharmacy. Positive test results can still be submitted at rapidtestmv.org  (last updated 3/3/2023)

Rapid Test Distribution - At-home rapid tests for COVID-19 are available through each town’s Board of Health office and at Island Health Care and at each town library. These tests will be available to the public until supplies last. Calling ahead to confirm availability is recommended. (last updated 2/9/2023)

Travel Guidance – There are currently no countries on the CDC’s do not travel list. Here is an extensive list of countries listed as high risk, meaning any travelers to these countries should be fully vaccinated and non-vaccinated individuals should avoid visiting these destinations. The role of the Boards of Health on Martha’s Vineyard

In response to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, the Martha’s Vineyard Boards of Health are currently

  • Distributing at-home rapid test kits in the community

  • Advising on the maintenance of rapidtestmv.org

  • Cooperating with Martha’s Vineyard Hospital’s PCR testing site

  • Overseeing the community’s contact tracing database

  • Monitoring the State’s COVID-19 case count for Dukes County

  • Distributing public health information updates online and through local press as needed

  • Collaborating on bringing a mobile COVID-19 Vaccination clinic to the Island

The following is a list of now retired efforts completed by the Boards of Health during the COVID-19 Pandemic

  • Working with Island Health Care to support a drive-through island-wide COVID-19 testing site

  • Distributing national supplies of N95 and KN95 masks and other PPE

  • Daily and weekly reporting of the COVID-19 case count on the Island
